Get to Know ME

Johnna Cwik, from Johnstown, PA, began her love of dance at the age of 5 at Le Dance Academie. She attended Slippery Rock University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Spanish. She has studied and is proficient in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, pointe, afro-colombian, and bharatanayam. She also loves Latin social dance such as salsa, bachata, and merengue. In addition to dance, Johnna also is an actor, singer, and model.

 

Johnna is a performer and has been seen dancing/acting at various theme parks. She recently was seen at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Spark!, Count's Countdown to Halloween, and Elmo's Christmas Wish. Johnna also served as Dance Captain for the Sesame Product at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. She also performed as a scare actor in Fools Court and a comedic actor in the Spritzer Squad at Busch Gardens. She has been seen in various regional theatre productions including Jesus Christ Superstar and Pippin with Stage Right! of Greensburg, PA. Additionally she was a Fairy Godmother in Training at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. 

When Johnna is not performing she is teaching and choreographing. She has been teaching for 10 years. She teaches various levels and styles of dance and has been teaching contemporary and jazz at Le Dance Academie for the last 5 years. She also has choreographed various productions for Mount Aloysius College and Cresson Lake Playhouse both in Cresson, PA. 

Johnna had the privilege to perform in various dance concerts during her four years at Slippery Rock. She performed for Slippery Rock Dance Theatre and Senior Synthesis concerts in various student works. Additionally, Johnna worked with Slippery Rock professor Ursula Payne and performed in her repertory piece for the faculty concert. She was also a member of the Afro-Colombian Dance Ensemble under the direction of Melissa Teodoro. She was honored to work with the Slippery Rock Theatre department. She served as dance captain for choreographer Thom Cobb as well as was Goat's Mom and a member of the ensemble of The Robber Bridegroom. She also worked with director David Skeele as choreographer for Richard III and performed in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.
